Year 9 Information Evening

Dear Parents,

Information Evening: Hume Theatre, 7:00pm, Thursday 17 November 2022

The beginning of Year 9 is an exciting time for most of the young people; however, with so much recent disruption over the past few years, I would like to invite you are your son/daughter to attend an information evening at St. Mary’s Catholic School. This will be an opportunity to share some important information about the school whilst also providing some useful pieces of how evidence about how we can all support your son/daughter on their St. Mary’s Catholic School journey.

On Thursday 17 November, in the Hume Theatre, there will be a presentation that will cover a range of content including: The School’s top tips for success, the importance of positive study habits, how to help promote positive wellbeing, whilst also enabling an opportunity to meet your son/daughter’s form tutor for an informal chat/conversation.

The evening will provide you with ideas on how you can be further involved in your child’s learning at St Mary’s, with a presentation from myself and Miss Hayles. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have at the end of the evening.

The content of the presentation includes the following topics;

1. Welcome to St. Mary’s Catholic School

2. School Habits for success at St. Mary’s

3. Study & Learning Habits that promote education

4. Promoting positive Student Wellbeing

5. The use of Technology & Social Media

6. Brief meet with your child’s Form tutor

With parents and teachers working in partnership, a significant contribution can be made to ensure and secure academic success for the future, and I look forward to welcoming you on Thursday 17 November at 7.00pm in the Hume Theatre

Yours faithfully,

Mr Jon Wright & Miss Chanelle Hayles

Learning Coordinator & Assistant Learning Coordinator to Year 9.
