University and Apprenticeship Fairs

Every year we plan a trip to a University and Apprenticeship Fair so that our Year 12 students can explore the many universities and apprenticeship provider employers in readiness for their next steps.

Our 2024 trip to the UK Universities Search London Summer Fair:

In 2024 we took our Year 12's to Arsenal Emirates Stadium for the UK Universities Search University and Apprenticeship Fair. The Summer London Fair is the perfect way for students to engage with multiple universities and employers to choose which university or apprenticeship is right for them.

The exciting and informative event provided students with the opportunity to speak to over 120 exhibiting universities and apprenticeship providers. The event hosted Russell Group universities, redbrick and modern institutions, as well as apprenticeship providers and local colleges.

The fair featured a wide range of virtual seminars that students were free to explore including: UCAS Personal Statements & Application Advice, Why take an Apprenticeship, Choosing a University Course, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and Student Finance.

The aim of the trip was to inspire and motivate the Year 12s who are starting to make decisions about their post 18 education and career choices in the coming months.

Our 2023 trip to the UCAS Discovery Day:

On 28th March 2023, our Year 12 cohort travelled by train to the ExCel Centre in London for the UCAS Discovery Day.

Here, they were able to engage with over 100 universities, enquire about courses, different options and pathways, speak with their exhibition staff and take away knowledge and prospectuses of hundreds of experts all under one roof.

There was apprenticeship providers and employers in attendance, from Dyson, The Armed Forces, the RAF and The Association of Accounting Technicians.

Students were able to get the latest advice and information on different career choices.

It was lovely to see our students beaming with excitement about their futures and hearing that they had a lovely day.

“Going to the UCAS Discovery Day was a great way to see the opportunities available for us after we leave school. It definitely opened my eyes as to the grades I need to achieve for entry requirements” Lilly S Year 12

“The UCAS Discovery Day was a brilliant opportunity to open my eyes to uni’s I would not have considered or discovered for my desired subjects of Law and Music. It also helped me realise the grades I require giving me a new drive to achieve the best of my ability” Tobias R Year 12
