Liturgy at St Mary's
Liturgy plays an important role at St. Mary’s, this is because this is an opportunity to stop, reflect and come together as a Catholic community. Year groups have the chance to attend Mass at St Joseph’s and the English Martyrs Church where they actively take part in the Mass, listen to the Word of God/Gospel and receive Holy Communion. Liturgies are also celebrated together at key moments throughout the School year, these include: celebrating the Feast Day of our House Saints, Ash Wednesday, and at the end of each term we will reflect upon Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter and give thanks at the End of the Academic Year. Form group liturgies are another occasion when students can actively take part in the planning and delivery of liturgies whilst at St. Mary’s.
We hope that through prayer, reflection and listening to the word of God, our students can Love like Jesus, Respect others in our community, and Flourish on their faith journey.
