Green Careers Week is a fantastic new initiative launched in 2022 and we were thrilled to fully support it this year.

Green Careers Week was the week of 6th and 11th November. Its aim is to provide young people with an insight into careers that specifically protect the environment and will help the UK achieve its pledge of reaching Net Zero by 2050. Green Careers Week is an exciting event that raises aspiration, supports diversity, challenges stereotypes, and promotes real opportunities for young people to have a career that will genuinely make a difference.

Students had designated tutor time Green Careers Week activities specifically aimed to enable our students to get a better understanding of what Green Jobs are, what the Green Economy is and what skills are most beneficial to a Green Career.

Students timetabled PSHE lesson targeted the link between careers and the climate. Our Sixth Form students in Years 12 and 13 researched degrees, masters and apprenticeships in sustainability, environmental science and other green futures.
