Yr11 Information Evening

The beginning of Year 11 is an exciting time for most young people; however the journey they are embarking on can also feel overwhelming. I would like to lighten the load of this journey by sharing with you and your son/daughter the vital information about Year 11 that will enable you to support your son/daughter through their education this year.

On Thursday 20th October, in the Hume Theatre, there will be a presentation that will cover all of the vital information that you will need to engage with about your son/daughters Year 11 studies; ranging from good study habits, to pathways to St Mary’s Sixth Form.

The evening will provide you with ideas on how you can be further involved in your child’s learning at St Mary’s with presentations from myself as well as members of the Senior Leadership Team. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have at the end of the evening.

The content of the presentation includes the following;

1. Teaching and Learning
2. Study Habits
3. Student Wellbeing
4. Use of Social Media
5. Pathways to St Mary’s Sixth Form

With parents and teachers working in partnership, a significant contribution can be made to ensuring and securing academic success. I look forward to welcoming you on Thursday 20th October at 7.00pm in the Hume Theatre. Please complete the reply slip below.
