Year 12 Enrichment Week 2024
Enrichment Week 2024 was yet another eventful week and a great success for our students.
The Year 12's had an action-packed week full of speakers, UCAS and Unifrog sessions, games and team building activities and Outside Inside Day.
All events and activities in our Year 12 Enrichment Week aim at getting our Year 12 students ready for life beyond St Mary’s. Students begin their search for university courses and universities that appeal to them and begin to start planning their futures.
Our weekly events included:
The RAF came in one day getting our students involved in team-building activities, followed by a Careers talk highlighting all the career opportunities, including apprenticeships available within the RAF and how to apply.
Students spent the day creating and building their UCAS profiles, preparation for their Personal Statements, using the Unifrog Universities search tool for researching university courses and universities of their preference. Students also spent some time planning and setting learning outcomes for their Outside Inside Day.
Two Universities, The University of Hertfordshire and The University of Essex came in to speak with the Year 12's about How to Choose a University, How to Write a Personal Statement, Student Finance and the students even had some taster lectures on Criminology, Criminal Justice, Professional Policing and Law.
Local accountancy firm, Price Bailey came in to speak with the students about careers within Accountancy and the careers and apprenticeships that Price Bailey offer.
This year, we wanted to make enrichment week more fun and interactive, the Director of Sixthform Mr Noble became the University Challenge Master in a fun gaming quiz involving the form groups. Students also had the opportunity to play games of football, netball, table tennis and tennis with the Sixth Form Staff before the Year 12 Awards Ceremony.
We're looking forward to next year's enrichment week already!
