2019 GCSE triumphs. St. Mary's students celebrate excellent grades this summer

St. Mary’s is once again celebrating superb GCSE results. Headteacher Andrew Celano commented “I am delighted to see that the summer of 2019 has once again been a very profitable and successful one at A Level and at GCSE.  Following on from the excellent A Level results last week in which students secured the universities and destinations of their choice, the terrific performances confirmed today are the result of a happy combination of supportive families, very hard working students and a highly talented and dedicated staff team.  I would like to thank all involved in helping our young people to fulfil their potential and exceed their targets. During the summer holiday, work began on the £3.5m PSBP refurbishment project and the redevelopment of our Sixth Form block, and it pleasing that so many are choosing to stay on and benefit from the cutting edge facilities that these improvements will bring”.  Particular successes include:

 Roisin Canny – 10 grade 9s

Rebecca Hesketh – 4 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and 1 Grade 6

Theresa Grealy – 3 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and 2 grade 7s

Ben Kulagowska – 1 Grade 9, 6 Grade 8s, and 3 Grade 7s

Avisha Jayakody Arachchige – 3 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s and 1 grade 7
