Sixth Form Chaplaincy Team Christmas Appeal - Monday 9th - Friday 13th December 2019

This year the Sixth Form Chaplaincy Team at St Mary’s Catholic School have decided to concentrate on a Christmas charity appeal supporting the Cardinal Hume centre so we can continue to lead the school community in our faith.

The Cardinal Hume centre works with local communities and agencies based in London providing support and advice for homeless people, mainly families and young children. The centre holds a vital place in our community as it focuses on giving homeless people and families a place of comfort where they feel at home and providing young people with education and opportunities to develop skills for work in the future.

We have chosen this charity as the work in the Cardinal Hume centre is very inspiring and has a great impact on many young lives in our diocese. As the Sixth Form Chaplaincy Team, we have led assemblies and presentations to all the year groups on the mission we have as a Catholic community, that is, to work towards the common good amongst our community and to help people who are less fortunate through our actions and prayers. To achieve this, each house has been asked to bring in certain items, which the Sixth Form Chaplaincy Team will collect throughout the week at the year group assemblies or in their form classrooms.

All items will be collected in Assemblies from Monday 9th December to Friday 13th December 2019

We thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness. Your donations and sacrifices really mean a lot to us as a school community and we are grateful to have the opportunity to present the collection we make, on your behalf, to the Centre in London. The Sixth form chaplaincy team will be travelling to Cardinal Hume centre in London to gift the collected items and to see the impact that the parents, students and community of St Mary’s Catholic School have had on the lives of those in need. We would like to say thank you to all pupils, parents and teachers who have contributed towards the charity. We are very grateful for your thoughtfulness and consideration.

Best wishes,

The Sixth Form Chaplaincy Team
