Classic Car Show

St Mary's plays host to a number of events each year the biggest of which is the Classic Car Show.

"WHEEL MEET AGAIN" Motor Show

Since 1999 a sub committee of St Mary’s Catholic School’s parents’ association (SMA) has organised a motor show every September. Our 10 acre site is well maintained and has easy access for vehicles to playing fields. Our school is very conveniently situated one mile from Junction 8 on the M11.

The Motor Show has attracted more punters and exhibitors each year and includes a large exhibition of 600- plus individually owned classic, vintage and veteran cars, motor cycles, military and commercial vehicles as well as an increasing number of new car dealerships displaying their dazzling new models.  Several thousand people attend and there is a licensed Bar, BBQs, Teas, Crepes, Lunches and childrens’ entertainment, simulators, bouncy castle, Doody's Workshop, live band and representatives from the local newspaper and radio station.  Please note that dogs cannot be permitted on the school site. (Apologies for any inconvenience.)  Classic car clubs are also represented and in recent years Mercedes Benz have sponsored the whole event.

There is a 'best in Show' competition. Best car in the show this year was a 1935 Singer Le Mans, best utility was a 1932 Leyland fire engine, best motorcycle was a 1959 Matchen G12 and best American car was a 1968 Ford Mustang. Money raised from the show will go into the funds of the St Mary School Association.

If you are in possession of a classic vehicle and would like to come to our next show it is to be scheduled on Sunday 12th September 2010"Wheel Meet Again" - on the school fields. Further details and application forms will be available nearer the time.
